Default Butterfly Orchids

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These are one of my favorite orchid plants
- They are a sequential blooming orchid. They are always in bloom
- It flowers for years from the same spike, each flower will last 3 to 4 weeks, after the flower drop off another one will come out right after
- They look like butterflies
- The spikes are very tall and can last more than 10 years
- They have strong wide leaves some are spotted
- Large flowers can be 5 to 6 inches in size. The spikes are from 2 to 6 feet in height.
- If by mistake you accidentally break a spike, leave the remainder and it will branch and develop a new spike

Psychopsis Mendenhall flava 'Yellow Butterfly'
Onc. Butterfly (papilio x sanderae)

Yikes, those spikes are huge! How tall are they? Love your shot with the monach butterfly it's funny to see a butterfly on another butterfly!

I just got one a few weeks ago and am impatiently waiting for it to spike, although I heard that you've got too be patient with these guys when it comes to spiking!

Your butterflies are beautiful. My oldest one is now throwing it 5th spike. It is in S/H and seems very happy.

Beautiful Butterflies Ysa. I wonder if there is any snook in those waters behind your house? I'd love to come fish over there. Imagine, sitting back with line in the water, and all the while looking at your pretty chids.
