Miltonia Dainty Sandra Culture???
Default Miltonia Dainty Sandra Culture???

Hello,

I was just at the nursery and saw this plant and bought it on a whim... It is the first time i have branched out from Pleuros and I have no idea how to take care of this thing. Any suggestions? Can I grow it in front of a window or does it have to go into the terrarium? How moist does it need to be? Any help would be great!

Don't know this hybrid specifically, but according to 'The International Orchid Register' Dainty Sandra is actually a Miltoniopsis rather than a Miltonia.

Miltoniopsis are often labled as Miltonia as they used to be all the same Genus but it was split into two as the culture requirements differ.

There is a culture sheet for both here and it gives details of some of the differences between the two. Miltoniopsis are cooler growing than Miltonia.

I grow my Miltoniopsis in an east window in standard household temps... but I'm not the best to advise as I'm not completely sure how well mine is doing, despite the fact it's just flowered, best to read the culture sheet I posted above.
