Default is this burn?

so i got a miltoniopsis division from the orchidgallery on ebay and what arrived was a wilted looking plant with just one bad looking leaf. i thought "well maybe its just dreading the heat" and the note in the box with it said "water me ASAP" so i did and put it in my growing area which is pretty warm abut 90 in a southern facing window with very diffused light about 500 fc's minimum 1000max.

next day it still looked wilted and light brown areas of the leaves appeared and the foliage was incredibly soft. almost like soggy lettuce. so i took it away from there and stuck it outside under the porch where its much cooler and moist. next day after much monitoring (like literally i would go outside every 20 minutes to check it) it was even droopier and one pseudobulb turning orange. the brown areas of translucent leaf also increased.

i contacted the seller and told them what was wrong and they told me that they like moisture ALOT (they recommended watering it every other day at least) and that they hate heat (they also recommended sticking ice cubes on the media at night to cool the roots down) and that they suggest moving it into very cool conditions.

so i put it in the dining area where the temp is a constant 60 degrees or lower and its darker. a couple of the leaves seemed to perk up and after sticking some ice cubes on the media the leaves got a tad less soft. so is this right? what are these wierd brown segments of leaf. could they be dieback from the heat or a disease. i dont know and for the strange orange colouring of the bulb, i pressed on it between my fingers and it wasnt mushy and since the plant is potted in spagh and what seems to be a charcoal bark mix with VERY red bark, i think the bark may just be dyeing the bulb. i also put my zygo next to it since it too hasnt fared well and is a cool grower and it perked up a bit too. any ideas? thanks
