mini Oncidium
I bought this plant in Florida as a mini Oncidium. There were no ID tags however. I'm not convinced it is truly an Oncidium but could be a intergeneric cross of some sort. No pseudobulbs, vanda-like fans of leaves, tall flower spike with 4-5 blossoms - I left the spike on and it re-spiked just like a Phal might. Any ideas?

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

It is an equitant oncidium (Tolumnia) hybrid. Other than that, you are on your own! *grin*
Grow bright and let it dry out.

Thanks Rob, It's in light like the other Oncidiums and planted in a half pot of charcoal chunks just for support (nearly bare root.) I water it every other day by dipping in bucket. Seems to like its new home.

Should be about right. I like to grow them mounted, myself. But i've seen charcoal chunks used and the plants looked good.

Almost looks like a "Carnival costume".

Very cute Ross!
I have 3 from Oak Hill. One of them is almost identical to yours but the bloom is more red in some areas. They grow really fast! I have mine mounted also.
