Bayard, how do you post a picture right in the comments as opposed to the one I did just above yours that is an attached thumbnail??

Silken,

Bayard's picture is not an attachment on the post, but a link to a picture hosted on 'Photo bucket'. There are various external sites that can host your pics and allow you do to this, quite a lot of people here use Flickr and personally I use Picasa.

There is a way I've seen of doing something similar with attachements though... I've never done it and I'm not sure how it's done I'm afraid.

Silken - Rosie is correct. The image lives on the Photobucket server.

I copy and paste the link right into my message. Photobucket is a great site and I pay $25 to get the upgrade (no advertisements, increased bandwidth). I'm sure I don't use half the features the site provides.

The main advantage is that I can link large shots that cannot be stored on this site due to bandwidth limitations.
