Ionopsis paniculata Lindl. - Orchid Board

This is native of my area. It likes sunny places and the thin roots free in the air, with just a few attached to the branches as anchors. The type has pinkish flowers. The one in the photo would be a perfect alba if it were not for a few light, subtle rose veins.

Yes, when I'm in the country it is possible to see it growing in the wild!

Congrats on the blooms !!!! Mauro is this one and Ionopsis utricularoides the same ?? I've read somewhere that the names are used interchangably. Mine is the type pink and it sure blooms on every new growth. Yours is a gorgeous almost alba. I wish I could find it here.

Thanks for posting that, I remembered buying a flask but couldn't find it. This reminded me to look for it and unflask the little bebo's. LOL

Thanks for posting these beautiful flowers, Mauro. Photo is exceptional too.

They look larger or fuller than utcricularoides flowers. A friend of mine has that one pop up on small trees all over her property in Suriname.

Wow, such wonderful flowers. I love the delicate pink veining which is visible in the second pic. Really wonderful.
