Default Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' FCC/AOS

This is the 1st spiking & blooming of this plant. The spike took forever to grow after I saw it starting( started last year).I was amazed at the size of the bloom as I've had other psychopsis before in my orchid growing career.
The flower measures 6" from the tip of the bottom lip to the tip of the dorsal.

Wow, that's incredible! And how agonizing that it took so long to bloom, lol. I would love to see some pics of your shade structure if your able to, thanks!

Good growing and nice capture! I have several PYP's and love their habit of continually reblooming.

I think this is the most beautiful psychopsis I saw. I really love the contrast between the red and the yellow, and the huge yellow spot on the lip is hypnotizing.
Do you know if all mendenhall have this contrast? Is is commonly sold?

I ordered this same plant from Hausermans and it just finished flowering on the original for the third time since April of this year and a new spike is in bloom now with the other in bud.For two weeks both spikes were in bloom.
