Thanks Tindo, they do like their water during the growing peroid. We really should have repotted ours into a larger pot sooner, but that space issue. Mine is the 'Sweet Fragrance' hybrid too and it was a very small seedling when we first got it 6 years ago. Our little fella usually blooms for 6 weeks.
Carol, that is a beautiful plant, very different from ours. They can be divided when dorment or just breaking dormency, 3-4 sizable pseudobulbs will be a blooming size plant again real soon. So if your friend still has it and is willing.....

Barbara, I sent it to an orchid society, and although I left a division for myself, it just didn't seem able to survive.

I also sent them my huge Onc. ornithorhynchum which I had bloomed from babyhood (had to wait 2-3 years for it to bloom), but I really don't regret it-it was my idea, after all. I just hope that many people are enjoying them ( as they were divided and sold), which I understood would be done before I gave them away.

Carol

Wonderful story Carol, I love to hear how young orchids are sent out into the world to spread the orchid wealth.
