Question info please - Mtdm. Ruffles 'scent of a woman'

hey there everybody,

about a month a ago my boyfriend surprised me with an orchid that he scored from freecycle (needless to say major brownie points for him). the woman who posted it said it was done blooming and she didn't know how to take care of it. So i put it with my phals in the bathroom, and suddenly is is blooming! I hardly did anything to it, and practically ignored it. I have no idea of how to take care of it (besides it obviously likes the phal conditions) and i was wondering if I could mount it at all? and if anyone could provide some general info on it, it would be much appreciated.

on the tag it says Mtdm. Ruffles 'scent of a woman'
i'll post the pics soon, it has very lovely little flowers.
this is the first oncidium type i have ever taken care of.

thanks a bunch and have a great day!!!!!!

Pretty plant! I looked it up on Google Images. I have no experience with this plant either, sorry. But, I do have two questions, what are "brownie points" and how did this thing bloom in your bathroom, I mean how many windows do you have in there? Good luck!

It's a primary hybrid between Miltonia warscewiczii and Oncidium ornithorhynchum, both of which are fragrant. I think this guy need intermediate temperature and higher light than Phalaenopsis. It will help if you transfer them gradually to a place where they can get higher light, they will be happier. Make sure you don't over water them, wait until they almost dry out then water again.

Default Mtdm 'Scent of a Woman" info needed

I purchased this orchid at the Longwood orchid extravaganza. It had about 8 flowering spikes, two of which are still in bloom, but it now has roots coming from the bottom of the pot, along with those coming out of the top and starting to encricle the pot. I assume it MAY need repotting? Its in bark and I have bark, but I'm not sure about repotting while its still in bloom. The grower says this is a rebloomer, and it should bloom again in fall, blooming, (If I don't kill it) twice a year. It does have a very nice scent.

Anyone know about repotting this one?
Thank you
