Default Oncidium Nambo Waltz

I received this plant back in mid Dec. this one just happened to have a small spike on it when I opened the box.

I am not sure but my wife and I both think that the scent of this plant is not coming from the flowers but it seams like it is coming from the main stem that the flowers branch off from.

here is a sneek peak at an Oncidium Sherry Baby 'Red Fantasy' that put up 2 spikes last week

Don't you just love when you get a new orchid and there's that extra little spike down there?!?! What a good feeling!

Can't wait to see your Sherry Baby in bloom!

Very nice blooms, although I would not call that spike 'small' in my book! It's gorgeous!!

Me too, I can't wait to see the Sharry Baby in bloom!!

when it came the spike was small it wasn't even the size of my thumb but now it is over 15 inches long and has 20 flowers I just hope it puts on a show like this every time

I have it in coconut husk fiber and that is all when I want to make one look really nice I hold a bunch of it in my hand and comb it all straight then lay it over top of the media in the pot and tuck the ends of it in around the edge of the pot so that it looks nice and manicured.

Thank you, I have been so happy with coco husk chips and there fibers. For my plants that like to have more moisture I put some CHC in the bottom of the pot then fiber and if it is one that is drying out faster then the rest I cap the top of the media with a layer of CHC. What media do you use?
