We got this one back in October with the spike just starting to emerge. It has been in bloom for several weeks now with no sign of stopping.
So here's a little colour for the holidays.
Thanks for looking.

Thanks Wendy, it did indeed come from clouds. I have never been to an soos meeting, sounds dangerous to me. I might end up getting even more addicted to orchids and I surpose they sell plants there too.
It sure looks happy Barbara even though it looks lonely there. Is there just the one bulb or two. I thought these guys didn't bloom or wouldn't bloom until 4 or 5 bulbs? Either way, nice.
Hello. There are two bulbs, and this spike was set in a greenhouse under ideal conditions so I'm thinking this might be why it has flowered so soon. I do have another Colmanara which is mature and it had a massive flower on it when I first brought it home, and it has flowered for me one or two times every year since then. Its been with me for around four or five years now. Anyway, hope that answers your question.
Very nice plant! The color is amazing. What kind of potting media is that?

The media is a mix of fir bark, coco chucks, perlite, and charcoal (fine grade with med. grade in the bottom). I find that this holds water best without getting too sodden in the bottom. Just started doing this recently for the fine rooted types and so far so good.
