Thanks for the info, my first an I want it to be a big show-off over the years...mine at this point is busting with the root system outside the pot and after it blooms will be moving to a bigger pot w/o separation. I wanted to split the plant but seeing what you have done without split, I like it.

I agree, thanks for the info. I also have mine with three new growths just at the edge of the pot. Bot the other side of the pot is all empty. SHould I repot with the old pseudobulbs at the edge of the pot, or should I leave it, and have the empty side of the pot closer to the sun on my window? If I do this, will the new pbulbs grow on that side? THe side closest to the sun?
Oh, plus, what has been the max number of simultaneous spikes that you have gotten from that monster?

We have this one too and we got it about 4 years ago and it isn't nearly as big but, it has massive bulbs on it which makes me wonder if we are watering it too much at the wrong time.

Anyway, thanks for showing us what it will look like one day.

The most spikes I have ever gotten from this plant was 14. And that was a crazy time for sure. A person from the local orchid society told me i should have brought it in because it could have recieved an award

Wow! this is a great plant! I had no idea they get so big. I have a tiny one I bought by mail last summer (never had an onc. before), it had four bulbs and one spike. After blooming, two of the older bulbs rotted away and the new shoot on the latest bulb stopped growing. I reduced the watering a lot, letting it dry completely in between. It seems to be better now, with two nice bulbs and a brand new shoot growing well and fast. Are there small and large varieties of Onc. sharry baby ?
