Baptistonia echinata x compretha macroplectron orchid.

I bought this one from Seagrove Orchids in 2007 at the Washington D.C. Orchid Show. It has bloomed a couple of times, but the blooms weren't very big, and there were only a couple of them.

Now look at them!

Unusual hybrid! I've seen very few hybrids involving B. echinata. I like this alot!

The second parent is correctly Comparettia macroplectron. This is quite an interesting combination!

Yes... There is a second spike. That first spike had 10 blooms. The second has 13.

I accidentally knocked one of the blooms off of that first spike, so there would have been 11... ah well.

The second spike is opening more now, I have 4 open on it so far.
