Help identify Brassia noid
Hi there, a couple of days ago my brassia bought in the last European Ochid Conference in Padova (Italy) had finally bloom.
The sizes is about 9,5" long and 5" wide.
It's a very huge and beautiful flower and the spike count totally 11 flowers.
So enjoy with these pictures:
Please help me also identify this Brassia.

This looks like a hybrid to me, perhaps Brassia Rex or a closely related hybrid. It's a nice flower with good color and nice segments.

Not Rex, it looks like maybe Edvah Lou? Rex has big flowers but mostly white. Tony might know.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

I can't help with the ID of this plant but wanted to tell you I think it's very nice.

Just don't ever ask him about a Den...he's got some strange phobia about them

The reason I mentioned Rex is the stance of the petals and sepals. I've never seen a white Rex, most of them are green/yellow with brown markings with the petals and sepals held quite stiff. If you have a white Rex, it is probably a Miltassia.
Edvah Loo has a much more ethereal look with rather whispy flower parts. |

I would put my money on Edvah Loo. The lip and overall coloring point towards Brs arcuigera (longissima), the petal stance and slender sepals likely come from gireoudeana. Another possibility is Brs Santa Ynez, which is Edvah Loo crossed back to gireoudeana. I don't think that cross is widely available however, most likely you have a seed grown Edvah Loo, and gireoudeana just turned out to be very dominant in your plant. It's a beauty, good growing!

After the suggestion of Ross and the hard convinction of Tony I've made a search on google and I've found on the website of Paramount Orchids a picture that confirm their identification. Well done Ross and Tony!!
Hi Susanne thank you for your welcome back.
I believe that you have to be patient because I've different orchids there are ready to bloom, but some of them are noid and i need yours help to give them the right name.

Yesterday I've tried to put my nose near the flower and I've noted that it's little fragrant.
Is not exactly a smell but it seems like the scent of the dry green tea leaves, or the fresh cutted grass.

I love anything that smells like freshly cut grass! Why haven't they made an air freshener like that? If they have, I haven't had any luck finding it and I've been looking for years!

My Edvah Loo was lightly fragrant as well, but it smelled like pumpkin pie to me. The fragrance will likely intensify after all the flowers have been open for a day or two, and is also stronger in bright light.
