Oncidium Twinkle 'Red Fantasy' with its 1/2 inch high and 3/8 inch wide blooms that smell like Sharry Baby.

Now that's a pretty one! I do like Oncidiums and was going to try Sharry Baby, but I think I like the looks of this one better.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Ross, Twinkle is only 1/6 to 1/10 the size of Sharry Baby. In order to view the blooms of Twinkle and get the detail you have to take a close up and blow it up.

I have this myself and I grow mine in a basket because of my watering habits!! I always love this flower when it does bloom! Looks like you have it growing beautifully. Great job!!

Neat! My Mom bought two f these atthe last show...one for her and one for a friend. She fell in love with the clouds of little fragrant flowers.

If you are looking for that strong vanilla smell, get the Oncidium Twinkle, 'Fragrance Fantasy'. Looks just like the 'Red Fantasy' except it is white. Same clouds of blooms, but vanilla scented. There are also 'Fantasy's in yellow and gold. Their names escape me, but they shouldn't be too difficult to find. Easy to grow. Bloom pretty reliably for about a month or so.
Sidebar: Oncidium leaves not toxic to cats. One of my cats just loves to graze on my Oncidium Twinkles grasslike leaves. (Standard sized Oncidiums larger leaves don't seem to have the same appeal.) Raggedy leaves, but the orchid survived the haircut and the cat is fine. Had to find a new window sill where the cat doesn't go. All is now well.
