Well, I can't agree, Unhappykat . There are several ways the peloric traits appear, not only at the petals tip. Also, the intensity they appear is variable. In this flower, the purple base of the lip is clearly repeated at the base of the petals (the other Miltonia you provided the link repeats the tip of the lip at the tip of the petals, being a different type of peloria). Take a look at the following picture and I believe you're gonna agree that it is different from the type: the petals are strangled more or les in the middle, repeating the same characteristic of the lip, they also have a large purple extension at the base where some crests clearly appears. Additionally, the type M. clowesii is not a flat flower, having the petals projected and in this case, because of the peloria, the petals are perfectly flat.

I see what you mean but still dont like it too much, I prefer the showier ones like these

Thes are two different flowerings of a Mtssa. Shelob 'Tolkien' that mutated into a peloric form.

heres the common form

you can see the dramatic difference not only from the common form to the first picture but also from different cultural settings. The darker peloric flowers developed in a cooler setting while the lighter ones developed outside in the warmth.
