Potting barefoot tolumnias
Default Tolumnias

@ frannington bear: Here’s a pic of how I grow the tolumnias. I don’t find them the easiest to grow. They are in clay balls, pumice, bits of bark with a bit of live moss on top. Placed currently in a dish with damp spagnum sitting on 2 clothes pins so they don’t soak up moisture. They are in a constant breeze from a small fan and dry out by late afternoon. In this spring I replace spagnum with live moss, for no other reason that I just like it better. They summer outside from half of May till well into September. I do use a plastic pot lined with damp moss at that time so the tolumnia pot is a bit deeper into the moss.
