Default Tolumnia Jairak Flyer 'Red Spread'

Interesting thing about this one - the flowers become a deeper red as they age so there us a spectrum from dark red to the newest flower, which is orange. Other red tolumina I've photographed start out their most intense, then fade a bit.

Very nice and those colors sure do pop on that black background!! Interesting that the red gets darker over time, most brightly colored orchids I have/had tend to fade as they age instead of intensify.

That's my experience too. I probably just spoke too soon. It could be just the later flowers developing at higher temperatures as we head into summer. My other tolumnias' flowers this winter matured with the same color.

Oh, and the black background is my flat screen TV.
The plant is sitting on a TV tray table.
