I got this Oncidium "Hakalau Pacific Sunrise" several weeks ago. What is that circled area ? This is my first Oncidium

I think I see both... to the left, outside of the existing growth, looks like a new growth. What you have circled might just be a spike. Patience... the plant will tell you eventually
