I thought moreliana was a variety of the Miltonia spectabilis? I'm a newbie though.
I have one labelled Miltonia spectabilis var. moreliana?
Anyway, it's beautiful and I love it! And to the OP, yes, they seem to be quite prolific! Each of the newest pseudobulbs on mine has two new growths each, so I can see how they become a large plant in short order! |

What used to be called "Miltonia spectabilis var. moreliana" has now been moved into its own species, so Miltonia moreliana. So... same plant, reclassified. Apparently different enough from other Miltonia spectabilis to get its classification changed... I don't change tags, too much work. Relevant if you submit it for judging, or breed with it. |

Ooooh! Thanks for the clarification!
Either way, I love mine and it's a very vigourous grower, apparently! They have the most beautiful dark purple flowers against bright green leaves, so pretty! But I just repotted mine a few months ago and already had to up-pot it! So that's my only complaint about it, is I think it might be hard to manage the size after a while, but otherwise is one of my favourites. |

I don't think there's a universal answer to that. Some plants like to send their roots deep, while others tend to spread them laterally.
My advice is to pot plants up how it's convenient for you, become a careful observer, and if it looks like they're moving in one direction or another, you can adjust at the next regular repotting. |

Yes, i bought that in eBay.... now it multiplied 3-4 times.... will do a video and post it..... its growing crazily.... but the pseudo bulbs are not plum.... may be due to that extreme new pseudo bulb growth.... |

kudos to whoever did grow this. It looks like it was grown very well to produce that many new growths, might be genetics but 14. Wow. That is quite impressive. Very good buy, hope you can keep up the same good care and get 20 new growths next year  |

The growth explosion is still continuing.... each pseudo bulb gave 2-3 new pseudo bulbs and the second gen new pseudo bulbs are throwing 2-3 each right now...
in next 2-3 months is should be seeing 100 pseudo bulbs.... feeding her light fertilizer every 5 days instead of 7 days.... lets hope she matures and sends down bunches of flower sprays |
