Oh I didnt know that it could be their shape! I didnt look properly at the roots to know if its healthy from both. I looked from opening the sphagnum moss at diff areas.

Thanks for everyone's help, advice and input. Ill keep you guys updated. My Oncidium must be under stress from being bought 2h away. So its resting now in a nice bright and ventilated area. Lets hope for the best!

If the pseudobulbs keep looking like that, and the leaves remain nice and green ...... then everything should be just fine.

The reason why I asked if the bulbs were already shrivelled when you first got it - was because it would be unlikely that the bulb would be shrivelled by that amount after two days of regular growing conditions. One wouldn't expect plump bulbs to shrivel to that state in just 2 days under normal growing conditions.

Looks like the people at the store need to look after their plants a bit better, even though that this particular plant was lucky to be purchased by you --- and therefore prevented an undesirable ending.

This is when I go my Oncidium last Sunday. Ready for a 2h trip home. I see odd things at where is considered top plant stores. Lithops and succulents being in a pool of water and you'll have plants drying out requiring moist medium.

My next trip to Montreal, I'll go to a specialise Orchid place in Laval. Orchids are on top best conditions there that it makes me feel bad when I bring a orchid back home. I cant replicate those greenhouse conditions at home but they still survive and do well here.

Ok ..... this situation is a bit different, as the plant is seen to have big flower spikes. In this case, the water is in the bulbs is being used to support the spikes and buds. So everything looks ok here. But - adequate watering will prevent the bulbs from getting really shriveled up like that. If they had watered the plant adequately, the bulbs definitely wouldn't have become scrunched up like that.
