Years ago I had a dear client who painted old Wonder Horses. She made me promise to continue. I painted this for a friend's birthday. I told Cheri I'd post a picture.

I'm thinking that in the previous thread, you might possibly have mentioned carousel horses, plural? Is this an ongoing hobby for you, or just a one-time project?

I'm doing a series of 4 (now 5) named after Rock Bands. I have Black Sabbath and Moody Blues (2) finished and I'm working on Pink Floyd.

I've done a few prior and given them away. I'd like to eventually sell these and donate the $. They are sealed with uv urethane and painted with outdoor paint. However, they'd be best on a covered patio or in the shade. And if course, you can't ride them now, as they're "art."

Oh, I like Black Sabbath, too! He's a beauty. It sounds like a nice hobby. Most of us of a certain age remember riding those beautiful horses on the carousels as children. I'm glad that there are people out there who are saving and restoring them.

Every piece I paint, I learn something. The 1st picture is my first try which I gave to my lawyer, Pam. The second went to my mentor, Sherry in NC. It sits in front of her house. She named it "Buttermilk" after Dale Evans horse (dates me).

On a Windows computer, hold down the Alt key and press the key pad numbers, one after the other, 0241. You will get the ñ character. Windows has an accessory called the Character Map for inserting special characters. It also shows you the Alt + xxxx codes.

On Macs there is a menu command to insert special characters, but I don't recall where in the menu that is.

Hmm, the Alt key and series of numbers doesn't work for me, but I did find the Character Map. Thanks, I never knew about that feature -- and I've been a Windows user for a few decades

I remember "Buttermilk," too! The horse you gifted to Sherry reminds me of my last (real) horse, who was also a buckskin mare. The detail in the painting of the saddles and bridles looks quite challenging!
