Seed grown under artificial lighting. Parent plants were collected by a friend on the eastern border of Colombia near Venezuela.

Thanks, your compliment is much appreciated!

The trumpet shape flower makes it easy for human hands to get the seed process going (I'm sure hummingbirds make very quick work of it). I'll probably take four balls & zero strikes, then walk on the 'seeds' this time around... will go the 'pup' route until the bottom of the 9th.

Being a hobbyist, seed to plant is a time consuming process. But if you are really into a hobby, it's worthwhile to learn the process (and at least try it once) just for the self-satisfaction of doing so, along with the rewards of the learning curve.

Do you still stay in touch with the NY Botanical Gardens? Any idea on how their A. titanums are progressing?

I have a couple pairs of Ruby-throated Hummers that would love to try some of the flowers.
