So do you think I shouldn't soak them? Just dunk them quickly? And reading about the care of tillandsia is, I have read and seen videos of them being soaked for 15 to 20 minutes two to three times a week. So I have been soaking mine every 3 to 4 days for about 10-15 minutes. Some of them or most of them actually are fine. Just this handful of ones with odd discoloration spots on them.
I read the same thing and a hour once a week. but it depends on your house. it seem ok for awhile but some plants started having issues. so now we just mist twice a week and a quick dunk. if the seem too dry try another dunk. but ours are doing much better now and the extra light makes a big difference for once now we have blooming plants.

It looks exactly like sunburn. It could also be not enough water, too-dry and warm air blowing on them or spider mite damage.

Most people do advise soaking Tillandsias overnight once a week if grown in a dry house, but people who are having success should not change their practices.

Also realize Tillandsias are extremely susceptible to copper poisoning. Don't use copper-containing fertilizers on them. Most bromeliads are equally sensitive to copper, except pineapples.

Sunburn is out of the equation, but could temps ( too cold) be a factor? The ones that are affected are in my bedroom which is a cooler area of the house. They are in glass globes hanging in front of the window. The ones of my living room and growing areas where my orchids are don't seem to be affected.

mine used to be right in the window and it could get pretty cold right there and it did not seem to phase them other then slow growing.

ES, with more consideration you might be right. Because these particular ones are in a different window and the ones out in the living room kitchen area. I hadn't considered it because they're not right up in the window but it is a southern window. So I believe I stand corrected.
