Anyone care for Venus Fly Trap or know growing tips?
Used to raise them some years ago but forgot a lot
Picked up one of those store sale ones yesterday for a young family member.

Well, water with RO/Distilled water. Never tap water. Vfts will NOT tolerate ppm more than around 80 (I believe). Give it as much sun as you can. Pot it in a mix of sphagnum+perlite+vermiculite with a ratio of 1:1:1, or replace sphagnum with WASHED peat. To wash it, rinse it and soak it for a few days in RO/Distilled water. NEVER EVER FERTILIZE UNLESS YOU ARE A PRO. Feed it occadionally, never overfeed, unless they catch them by themselves, then that is fine . Feed them LIVE bugs 1/3 of trap size. You can also use moistened freeze dried bloodworms (from the local fish store) with a toothpick but you will have to massage the trap lightly in the next ~5 minutes to simulate live prey.
