Australia Tillandsia Import Stopped xylella. Male
Default Australia Tillandsia Import Stopped xylella.

It looks like Australia customs have over reacted to banning the imports of tillandsia into Australia because of bacteria xylella.

With the emails & phone calls relating to shelving of tillandsia I received information that the ban customs have put on imports of tillandsia because of xylella is wrong as nowhere has there been any reporting of this bacteria being found in any tillandsia anywhere.

This information has now been given to Australia customs but the ban has been put in place and all the requirements now have to be for filled to get imported tillandsia back into Australia. This process is still going take many years and at much cost to the industry to get imported tillandsia's back onto the shelves again.

Sorry to hear! Hopefully, you can find someone else who grows them who can give you pups of the types you want.

The US actually needs a little more care. We keep letting in more problems for our agriculture. :|

Some more info below. Interesting stuff. I myself had never heard of it.
