Well I guess I should cross my fingers! A layer of snow on top should protect it.

Here the situation yesterday and today. Stem and inflorescence is 145 cm (4 feet and 9). To reach this size it tooks 18 days: something like 7 cm (2.8")every day!
Now the plant is outside because is smelling like dead rot meat... just perfect if you don't want nosy neighbors
but be sure to call police once in a while to say you killed nobody and there aren't any corpse

Technically this is not a flower, it's an inflorescence: you can see the little flowers at the base of the spadix (the purple "column" in the centre). Tomorrow a pic with me nearby

I think this is a very cool plant! Unfortunately, my spouse objects to any flowers that smell unsavory. Even my Bulbophyllums must have fragrance that smell pleasant.

yes, it looks like a sculpture. Also I wonder if I think it needs only 2 weeks to grow that size. It's an incredible speed of growth for new cells! I believe only some bamboo can make better than these. I don't go wrong, some bamboo can grow up to 1 m (3 ft and more) in 1 day. Amazing!
