I probably have more to be thankful for this year than most everyone else. A couple of weeks ago, my wife gave me a kidney. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner with the family. I really reflect on life much more than I did before the transplant. I was the picture of health compared to some of tghe poor folks I dialyzed with. Many of them had diabetes and were missing parts of feet, fingers and three or four had no legs from the knees down. It definitely gave me a whole new outlook on life and a new feeling about life after transplant.
there aren't too many people who would go as far as she did for me to keep me alive. I am sure there are ones who intend to do it, just to chicken out at the last minute.
