Default Jenny's Rose

Afternoon OB

Some of you may remember I posted a picture of a purple Phal that my boyfriend bought me a little while ago. That was one 'Arh' moment, and so, as I was posting some Den pictures, I thought I'd post another 'Arh' moment.

My boyfriend, who is very much into roses, bought me a 'Jenny's Rose' from a local (but rather well known) nursery. No special occaision, it was just a present. Anyway, I wasn't allowed to take custody of it until after I had my PhD exam (and even now, I'm being carefully supervised.... probably in the same way I would supervise him if I left him in charge of my orchids!!). Well, the first flower has just opened, so I thought I'd share as it's so unbelievably pretty

For those interested in roses, this is the place it's from - http://www.cantsroses.co.uk/products...&ProductID=108 , and, interestingly, I discovered a little while ago that my family has a history with them. My greatgrandad was a horticulturalist and, after going through some old bits and bobs after my nan passed away, I found some old cups for Rose awards dating back to the 1920s with both his company's name and Cant's on them!

Hope you enjoy

Thanks Bill, yes, I can't wait to see how the other buds come out

and,

Thanks Nenella for the lovely comment - I'm glad it made you smile and the circumflex over the 'O' made me smile
(... long story, but I was reading an article about the use of diacritics in internet forums a couple of days ago!)

Beautiful flower! Looks like a water lily. I love the story behind it too. A shame I don't have much space, or else I would have a few roses...
