Default Pineapple Sage growing s/h :)

Not intentionally though.

The roots of the plant started to grow out of the pot at the bottom and I just put the pot into a slightly bigger decorative pot so I don't see those white hairy roots. so lazy.

I did put some styrofom peanuts at the bottom of the decorative pot in fear of root rot due to water collected in the pot. There was a time when there's nearly no water left at the bottom, but more often, there was some water at the bottom.

Look at the healthy root system entirely covering the styrofom peanuts in the picture!!! I was quite surprised at this. not a strand of rotten root.

By the way, this rather little pineapple was getting 'too tall' for me and I chopped it down, served with salad and meats for my guests. They loved it!

I did save two cuts, which are now sitting under my LED light. These should root soon. I will then pot them up and start over.

Don't worry about the roots growing into the reservoir - it happens all the time, and as they GREW there (and were not planted submerged), they will be fine.
