I would give anything for just 1 day of texas heat right now. Had the crappiest, rainiest and wettest summer on record. Think I went out in a t-shirt less than a dozen times, the bathing suit never left the closet and I pulled out my fall clothing mid July. Orchids couldn't even stay outside in July because the night temperature was only a few degrees C above freezing. blah.

Well Camille. I'm with you. The only time I did use my bathing suit was on Vacation. We finally have some sun right now.

B U T: It is supposed to cool off in the next few days and, may I mention it, even rain. Of course, "cool off" is subjective. Mid 90's is the forecast. We'll see.

The heat is on! Hopefully the humidity also kicks in...We have just survived the floods...hopefully the cooler 90's and humidity stays longer...we are also bracing for another hurricane about to come visit us...

Camille, are you in the Netherlands now? Seems you and vandagirl are having a rough summer. Interestingly we were in the Netherlands for 10 days the end of April coming home just after Easter and we were dying of heat! We brought what we were told to bring--warm clothes, sweaters, rain gear, extra waterproof shoes, etc. Instead I wish we had sunscreen and T shirts. It was hot (for NL) and sunny every day. Mind you we weren't complaining, but we did end up buying some T shirts and wore them frequently. People were telling us it was the hottest Easter on record. Guess the nice weather didn't last though!

In western Europe at least, April through June were extremely hot and dry. I went for bike rides through the tulip fields mid april and the weather was amazing. I was home in France most of that period though, but did go back up to the Netherlands in June for an interview and it was just as nice. In July I was home in France and the weather was I described. Living in a village at 750 meters altitude made it even chillier, which is why it was so cold at night. One area in france (not even in mountains!) got 15cm (roguhly 6in) of snow one day in July! I'm back in NL for my new job since early August, and the weather is beyond terrible, while in the meantime at home in France it's been hot....

so would a 110 degree breeze be hot to you?

and yes we have a 90 degree cool breeze and some rain on the way. For the most part the damage is already done. When you start seeing the news reports that the drought here might increase food costs, There just setting us up. MIGHT?

We seem to complain more about the heat but in reality the cold is worse bec we spend all summer at a 120 degree heat index!!

Heat index = Feels like..
Huh? If it feels like the chances are it IS!!
