sick of the cold
I must have seasonal affective disorder because I can't take this long cold spell.
A couple of weeks ago we had some nice weather, so I washed the snowpants and packed them away, only to have to pull them out again.
I'm dreaming of the day when I don't have to wear my heavy down-filled coat and Arctic boots.
Is there any hope for warm weather soon?!?!

Not really. You're going to get that nasty cold weather that has been plaguing us for the last couple of weeks. Just pray that it goes either north or south. It sure has been a long, grey winter here in Alberta!

I'll trade you a day of snow for a day of our hot, sticky weather!

Deal!
My hometown in Florida gets a lot of snowbirds... people from up North who winter down here. Lots and lots of people from Canada! They typically leave at the end of March or beginning of April -- if it's as cold up there as I think it is, though, they'll be here a bit longer this year.

I'm jealous of all the great orchids that are grown in the Florida weather. All my orchids are grown by a window. They don't go outside.
But you're right about the heat. I was there last summer (Disney) and the humidity just about knocked me off my feet. Just means more time in the pool!!!

The humidity is dreadful. Starting about May it just goes up and up until you can't walk from your front door to your car without breaking a sweat!
My orchids eat it up, though. They stay outside almost all year, at least until the weather starts going below 45 or so. They also come inside for hurricanes, obviously, as a flying orchid pot through one's window would be a nasty surprise. We don't get too many of them, though, thankfully.
If you were in Orlando you were right near my home town. Did you like Florida?

Disney was great! We stayed on the resort. Everyone was really nice and friendly. Just couldn't take the humidity. We were walking around like drenched puppies. My hair puffs out - really nice to see.
Uhm, hurricanes?? Yikes, I wouldn't like that! Maybe I'll stick with the cold. Although this afternoon it warmed up a bit. 5 degrees C ( 40F)

sick of the cold
Well, we got some of the promised rain. Just a little, though. What we did get was cold. It is chilly and cloudy out right now (11:00 AM).
I have started taking plants out of the GH. Yesterday I brought out my mounted Platyceriums. Next week I hope to bring out the Rhipsalis and Orchids. That's a two day endeavor and I hope the weather cooperates.

Funny, up here in the Netherlands (which is pretty much level with southern Canada) spring got here a few weeks ago. Trees are turning green and this weekend is supposed to be in the mid 70s. Wish I could send you some of our spring weather, must not be fun to still have snow and cold in what is nearly April!
