Default Getting on the Garden Bandwagon

With the recent posts showing flowers in gardens, I thought I'd start another with vegetable gardening in mind. Since I live in a small city, space is an issue so I garden primarily in containers.

The three large white pots contain large tomatoe plants (patio type). The small white ones on left contain Pineapple Sage and Jalapeņo Pepper plants. The next two pots have geraniums in bloom. The last one on left has Marigolds in bloom. This flight of steps leads to out main deck - the house entrance we all use.

The forground box has pole beans planted along fence and three hills of winter squash. Beyond this planter is a second planter with three hills of rhubarb.

  Red raspberries and Columbia Berries.

  Onions and raddishes.

And finally, my side yard which is all planted with native wildflowers and plants, along with a few herbs such as cilantro, basil, thyme and lavender.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Nice garden decor! I love your pond. Now since when do small cities have space issues?

Nice work, I love your water garden. So is that a delphinium I spy in the bottom right hand corner?

Very Nice Ross!
Looks like you'll be reaping a nice harvest!
Do you have anything living in the pond besides the water lilies (lotus or is it lotii?)

Fragrant waterlily is a native Michigan spp. Also have miniature cattails (not native, but close. Last year we had Big Boy tomatoes and those were great. This year no one has them in large sizes.
