I might opt for the wire trellis too. The bamboo is cumbersome and heavy and would require a concrete support. Then somewhere down the road the bamboo would need replacing. That's too much work for an old lady like myself.

Ok, so now I want to grow it, but as always, indoors year round (no other choice you know). Anyone know if that is doable?

This variety prefers warm climates and grows rather large, however there are different versions with smaller different shaped flowers, and possibly smaller growth habits for cooler environments. Don't really know, but you could try Googling Aristolochia and see what you come up with.
