Passiflora incarnata

So I just planted a passionflower (known locally as Maypop) by a trellis of my deck.
The only question I have is that to get fruit from the plant, do I need to have two plants, or is that one plant sufficient?

and it seems that one plant is all you need

Thanks for the info.
I wasn't sure if it was a case of requiring two plants or just a pollinator to go from individual flower to flower, but it looks like as long as there is a pollinator, one plant will be fine.

Yeah! I have a small one that I sprouted from seed last year. I definitely need to find a better spot for it tho. Good luck on getting fruit - let us know!

Sure thing! Though since I just planted it, it will probably be a while till I make a status report.

I'm glad to see that many of us shade the same interests besides orchids. If I'm not mistaken incarnatas don't need to be cross pollinated. Here are some pics of the ones I've got blooming now. They are Lady Margaret, Belotii, biflora and hopefully soon caerulea which is budding now

Nice set you have there Roly. I like the filaments on the Lady Margaret and the varying petals on the biflora.
