Mom and I have had this little one for a few years now and it's never really thrived.
I did some research last month and suspected that we were overwatering, and have cut back. I can't tell if it has improved much.
The ends of it's leaves were drying up. I now only water when the soil is dry, rather than keeping it more constantly damp.

think they've stopped since I cut back watering, or at least slowed down.
The smaller plant closer to the window is not as saturated in color as the one that I've photographed, I'm not sure if that is cause for worry or not.
I. It's in a bright southern window that gets midday dappled shade- the easter cactus next to it obviously loves it.
II. I was not present when it was last repotted, so am not sure what the soil is. It appears to be mostly peat with some vermiculite and perlite. As I understand, that is too dense of a mix for cacti, and can make a different mix with more perlite or other inorganic matter as needed.
We were so excited to find this plant that so perfectly matched our super sweet antique planter! I'd hate for it to continue it's slow decline. Our proud goose would be sad to lose her friends.
1. Am I right in thinking that this is a cacti? It seems to meet the criteria I've found. If so, am I giving it the proper culture?
2.Any ideas on a genus or ID so that I can care for it better? I suspect it's a hybrid, with it's unique color.
btw, if anybody knows about Hull Pottery, I'd love to talk to you about this planter, I've had a devil of a time finding information on it. I'm pretty sure it's a reproduction (script instead of blocked stamp, gloss finish), but it would still be nice to find some information on this planter that is listed as "imperial swan"
