For all you pie bakers, another use for hydroton

So I'm getting ready to bake a pie and I usually use dry beans as pie weights and....NO BEANS.

But I did have a bag of hydroton and I figured, -why not. They worked great!

(they were very dry, I don't think I would try this if there is any dampness in them. They might explode?)

Just thought I'd pass it along.

Interesting!
I had thought they would be way too light - I've used lentils before when I've had no baking-beans, but good to know there is another option too!
