My garden this summer.

Hi all;
Two photos of success in the garden this summer.
The first is a "tower" of Gloriosa Rothchildiana doing wonderfully by my back door.
The other photo is of a wild grape I discovered growing as a weed in the garden,but this one is variegated.
I dug it up and potted it.
I'll keep it if the variagation is stable.
Pretty cool no?

are they hard to grow?

Really nice. My garden has been neglected somewhat this year, so it's nice to see someone else's is doing well.

No,the Gloriosa is very easy to grow.
What you get are finger potato - like tubers ,plant 4-5"deep in good soil (in a pot)bring outside in early summer and wait.It does the rest.
You do have to provide a trellis to climb onto to.
In the fall when stems die back,I upturn the pot to find many more tubers,which I overwinter almost dry in fallen leaves from the yard,in a plastic bag ,in a cool basement.

I like the Gloriosa too. Does it attract bees, butterflies, or hummingbirds?

That varigated grape is pretty cool. Be interesting to see if it is stable and if so how vigorous the plant will be.
