Default After Fay Before Hanna Beach Photos

The hubby and I brought a camera along for our short walk south on Canova Beach (East Coast Central FL) late this afternoon. Dark clouds were beginning to develop and the current wave conditions were about 5 to 6' and choppy. That didn't seem to bother the dozen or so die hard surfers. As you can see in the pics, Fay left us with tons of seaweed (foul smelling). Further errosion from future storms could spell big trouble for waterfront residents and business owners. Brevard County spent alot of money on beach restoration after the 4 Hurricanes in 2004 (up hill battle) and it appears that most of the sand and sea turtle nests have washed away.

I think it's so sad that the beaches suffer badly during these storms.
