Wow, that's a very nice color!!! My mother had one in fornt of her house, but color lavender/purple variety. Bumblebees love the flowers and are always covered in pollen.

If you want something really blue (and not a purple that is called blue), have a look at Gentiana verna. I saw these high in the french alps, and I was shocked by how perfectly blue they are.

Thanks for the suggestions, those look quite interesting. But to be honest I'm not really looking to add anything to the garden, it's a challenge enough for us to maintain what's already there. So we try to keep new plants to a minimum (can't always resist!), and focus on certain small areas, easy plants that require minimal care and are not fragile. Besides the normal climate/conditions questions, there's also the issue of whether they are tasty to the local wildlife...
