Default Planted Tank

Just set this 5 gallon high tech tank up a week ago. 15 watt Fluval led, Dennerle scapers flow canister filter and CO2 injection. Dwarf hairgrass, water clover, Rotala indica and a couple other plants.

Should fill in nicely once everything is dialed-in/balanced, and established. Looks like you are using disposable CO2 cartridges? Keep us posted on your progress.

Yeah, disposables…not the most cost effective approach but it’s such a small aquarium that I didn’t want to invest in a large CO2 tank and regulator with a solenoid…once these run out I’ll get a larger bottle that’s still somewhat smallish, lol. Space is also an issue in its location. I’ll likely build another larger tank with more bells and whistles…as long as I can take out a second mortgage on my house. I rescaped it a bit, swapped out the larger stones up front for smaller ones. Once the new background plants establish, I’ll trim them back and plant the trimmings for more density.

Getting ready to trim….will edit with a post trim pic. Things are growing well for the most part. The staurogyne repens in the front corners was doing great but then took a dive. Not sure why but definitely a deficiency. Have a touch of some kind of Cyanobacteria possibly in the front right. Need to up my water changes maybe. Also need to cut some acrylic for the top as my cat has taken to drinking and washing her paws in it. 😡

Looks great. Do you dose with nutrients, or is that taken care of with the substrate?

Whoah!! In three months?!? That would have been a great time-lapse video, right?

It's a teeny tiny mountainous world.
