I love the spinning rod trick and I have made it better, I believe. I use a broom stick and a piece of 1” (ID) pvc tube. I spray grease on the broom and slide the pvc over it then put some peanut butter or herseys syrup right on the middle. No rat has even touched the bait lol. That tube spins so easily they fall in just testing it

It’s so funny to me because I really like rodents when they are not near houses. When they are...I hate them haha

So my truck has basically sat in the drive for three months. It recently developed a horrible odor, musty, moldy, sickening. I vented, pulled the mats out, used baking soda, let it bake in the sun...nothing worked.

The dealer ripped out the carpet and back seats to discover the right sunroof drain hole plugged and water running into the back. While the carpet was ripped out (a couple layers apparently) they found another carpet...of dead stink bugs. I'm scheduled for a detail and demold/fungus/stench removal tomorrow. Total for the week, $500.00. No insurance for that.

i am going to go and start my car now...it has been sitting since march.

fortunately for me, our pests are not interested in the car



funny note- i was talking about this with my neighbor and he said that they have a mud truck at their house in NC and they completely sealed the underside with hardware cloth!!! he said it took about a day and four spools but they used rivets and washers and they have not had a single issue....he said it was necessary because they are not at that house for months at a time and their last vehicle was completely electronically destroyed by rodents....

Hello ES and glad to read your posts again-they were missed by all. Sounds like the wild wild west and you've had your share but able to cope a lot better than I could manage. The only issue I'm dealing with at the moment is a probable raccoon in-the-attic but critter control is in the works. Stay well and in touch.

Apparently there's a lot of soybean oil used in the formulation of electrical wiring insulation, and that's supposed to be the attractant.

i am happy to report my car started and drove fine...critter free...i did apparently leave several Epi radicans cuttings in the back seat.....rest in peace dear friends

ES, you said you have adenium right? did that kill them when they ate it? it is mostly a paralyzing agent in small doses so i imagine not.... maybe paint some bait wires with it and see if they chew and die.....if it works, slide under the car and coat all the wires (and conduit) you can see....

They nibbled holes in the bark of one Adenium, and topped another smallish one down to the trunk. They must have eaten what they removed; it wasn't to be found. Maybe they were telling me I should prune down the plants and train them for showing.

I don't know what happened to them after eating the Adenium and Albuca. They ran off. I don't use poison. In addition to my dogs, I don't want the carnivores in our local ecosystem eating poisoned rats.

Do turkey vultures predate chickens? There are few vultures here in the city, and they leave alone living things.
