Problems loading pages
Hi, has anyone else been experiencing problems loading orchid board pages. Its taking my computers 3-4 mins to load every page!! ITs been like this for a few days already. And I use two different computers, home, and work, to visit. Both are giving me the same grief when I try to visit either orchid board or vivforums. I'll never get the chance to win the posting contest at this rate!!!!
What the heck is going on?

I have experienced delays at times, not quite 3-4 mins, more like a minute. I believe Marty has addressed cause of this previously.

I have experienced some delays too; doesn't matter the connection speed or computer used, sometimes one minute (never 3-4).

I'm on DSL high speed and it takes several minutes for normal pages to finally open (after 5-10 minutes to get the Orchid Board to come up in the first place) Was fine earlier today and miserably slow now. Can't get "publish article" to come up at all - just hangs the board still and I have to restart IE to get it to work.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Of all the forums I've been on, I have to say that the OB has to be the slowest to load...

I think it's time to start thinking about a dedicated server. I spoke to a guy at the hosting company, he said that on the shared server, which we share btw with approx 400 other sites, we're using the most traffic by a land slide.
I will see what I can come up with
