New Feature - Orchid Board World Map
Check out the "Member Map" in the Site Menu. It has locations of our members and guest - though they are not labeled with usernames. There could be 20 people in say New York, but only one dot will show for all of them. It will give you a slight idea of member distribution.
This map is based on a free database which should correctly label most cities, however if you live in a small place, you may not be in the database and therefore won't show up. Commercial version of the db would have fixed that, but for $400, we'll go with the free one 
Hover over the image to see it larger. Map is updated every 15 minutes

I personally think it sucks! (Sorry). It only zooms so far and then refreshes to the original size. I'd like to see Michigan (for instance) and who's registered in Michigan. Can't get beyond a small thumbnail.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

I'll see if I can implement a Fly down from space, down to Michigan, Cadillac and then a 3D rendered glide down your street.
actually there is a map that would do that, but it would require everyone to enter their personal info. It's based on google maps... I didn't want to set that up here, in case Tindomul starts to stalk CB977 |
