Default OB - reorganization - please chimie in with an opinion

Hi,

Dave and I are working on reorganizing the species section. We want to organize things a bit better and order the forums by Alliances. Here's the dilemma I am having.

Do you guys prefer option A or B ???

Option A - Pleurothallis Alliance is the actual forum with the listed genera only being a description. This will be a single forum for the entire alliance and will look like this:

Pleurothallis Alliance
Including Dracula, Dryadella, Lepanthes, Masdevallia, Pleurothallis, Restrepia, Sarcochilus Stellus and their Hybrids.

Option B - Pleurothalis Alliance is only a heading with genera being the actual forums. This gives a specific forum for each genus and would look like so:

Pleurothallis Alliance
Dracula Dryadella Lepanthes Masdevallia
Pleurothallis Restrepia Sarcochilus Stellus Their Hybrids.

Good morning...
I think Option A would work better.
The second option gives too much of a break-down and makes it seem overwhelming.

Option A.

Pleurothallid Alliance is sufficient. For what it is worth, I'd do that with all the breeding groups. Slipper Alliance, Phalaenopsis, Oncidium Alliance, Cattleya, and maybe 'misc'.

You could go insane trying to break it down too far, and I think just a general group is sufficient for what you are trying to do. If there were hundreds of posts per day to a given group, maybe it would need a bit more subdividing.

Great ! Fair enough... as we grow and the demand grows, we can always break it apart later.

I'll re-shuffle things today or tomorrow

I like A too, but how about calling it the "Itty bitty alliance"?

In this world, there are "lumpers" and there are "splitters."

I'm a lumper. option A. (didn't I suggest that last week? )

Sorry to go against the current, but im a splitter. I like B, but who am I to stand in the way of the mass.. I mean majority.
