Default New speices sub-forums?

Ok, so just recently I was wondering about the possibility of adding a/few new species sub-forum/s. I know the Phalaenopsis alliance has one, but I was wondering if we could slowly add them, starting with the major Alliances, like the Catts, then maybe the Oncids or Vandas. Another thing I was thinking of is having a special 'sorting team' go through the past pages of any threads having the species/hybrids sub-forums and moving the species related threads into the newly created sub-forum. I DO know that this would take some work, but I think it would really be great, as IMHO, it would help people find what they are looking for faster. I have included a poll so that Marty can get a good look at the general opinion, as I do know this is totally up to Marty.

I have trouble seeing what you mean, there are already subforums for Catts, Oncs, etc. Do you mean further dividing them into species vs hybrids? We had done that with the Phals because there are many people who grow species and so there was a demand for it. I can see this being done maybe for the Cattleya alliance as it's the most active section, but not for the others. Also, doing it for all alliances would make an insane amount of work for the mods, who are the only people who can move threads.

I think it was done on the Phal alliance because it is pretty much the most popular alliance and while many people by NoID mass market phals there are also a significant number who are only interested in species.

I agree with Camille that the only other alliance I can see being active enough is the Cattleya one, on the other alliances I don't think there is enough activity to be worth splinting.

I'm not sure that there is the same problem with masses of hybrid posts and a lot of people only interested in species. However if enough people interested in only Cattleya species were to support the idea I think it could be considered on that one. I would not want to consider it on the others at this stage though.

It may create more confusion by fragmentation of the forum. Google and search are your friends if you want to find posts related to certain species

Separating the Cattleya alliance into species vs. hybrid would be great! Just my
