Default Sarcoglottis sceptrodes

Will be a while before it blooms, but worth a photo anyway. Ive wanted one of these for a long time. My first one actually turned out to be a Stenosarcos 'Vanguard'.

Oh HO! So this is similar to a jewel orchid?

The foliage does look like it's air-brushed with aluminum! Really spectacular.

Are you going to put yours in a terrarium? What are the plans.. .you know we've got to know.

For now, i will just grow it out in the open with the rest of my orchids. Ill keep it inside, on the plant rack in the living room. With the hot humid summer weve been having, i havent been too worried. I do have a 75 gallon fish tank i housed some stuff in over the dry winter months. It may end up in there later.

I read that it cannot tolerate any direct sun.

Your your leaves look absolute flawless, so you must have it in the just right location!

You are correct about the sun. But, i cant take credit for its current condition as i just got it.

I learned the hard way with the Stenosarcos. I let it get too much light and it faded out the leaves a lot. It did bloom though and now has 2 large, healthy growths.
