Default BOLLEA ECUADORANA

Look this plant has two years in my hands... and is the first time that blooms... I´m very proud about my new flower.... enjoy this ecuadorian beauty....

Fantastic, Beto! Vegetatively, it looks very much like my pescatoreas (I'm assuming that they are related?). Do you have it growing in moss? Would you mind providing some cultural information, please (temperature range, amount of light it gets, watering frequency, etc.)? Congratulations on your beautiful flowers.

Steve, they are related (they actually belong to the maxillaria/zygopetalum alliance, so I'm surprised to see this thread here). Some people lump bollie's into the Pescatorea genus because of similarities between the two. I disagree with the re-classification, though, because bolleas and pescatoreas produce flowers that look quite different from one another.

That's a beautiful Bollea...I love the pink-purple color. Bolleas and pescatoreas are among my favorite orchids. I've yet to get an ecuadorana, though.

My outdoor conditions:
11 - 18 º C
air circulation high...
allways shade
humidity ... Quito is dry...
Watering once a week or two it depends of the days...
Fertilizing once a week
lots of patience and love to wait two years....
that´s all!!!
