Thanks. I think direct sunlight the whole day will be too much for it. I heard to bloom this plant needs more sun than a cattleya

That is too cool! Its taking forever though. Tell it to move it or loose it.

Default Sweet!

Thank you for the great post on how to grow and flower a vanilla orchid.
Was REALLY worried I would have to make cuttings from mine..since it has grown almost 18" in about 1.5-2 months. I bought it from the London Orchid Society meeting I went to in April...it was about 18" high then!
Being limited on space for it to grow was a BIG problem...but thanks to "adriponic" suggestion on directing it's growth. I am not so worried now!

Thanks again!

...wondering how "cb977" Vanilla is doing..been awhile since last post, and curiosity is getting to me...PLEASE let us know what's happening with your Vanilla!

It's grown another foot taller! I'll post a new pic tomorrow...and it has two buds forming again!

I'm Sue, by the way

Alla -
What medium do you grow yours in?
A way to conserve space with vanilla plants is to provide them with trellises that are spiral and guide them up and down - here is the link I believe you mentioned -
