Default Vanilla Beans

You need to :
1. polinate the flowers
2. harvest the seed pods before they open
3. semi-dry them
4. sweat/ferment them in a plastic bag in the sun
5. dry them properly after they are properly 'cooked'

I can dig out the procedure if you are going to do it

Weng

I can do that!...I think

If it's not too much trouble, I'd love the instructions.
Thanks

Found a decent article in Wikipedia
Vanilla - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Please note that you must do the pollination yourself... after you have photographed the flowers for us, of course!

How long does it usually take for a bloom to open?
Here's what the 3 buds are looking like now:

I also realized today that when I water and fertilize, I pour it through the top of the tree fern totem, besides spraying. Somebody asked how I grow this vanilla and I didn't even realize I was doing this...until I did it today!

Sueee!! You thought you had to wait 8 years or something just to get to this stage. you need to be more patient! Hehe. I suggest taking a picture of it everyday to record its progress.

Thats amazing Sue but you've got the right conditions obviously. Mine is still confined to life in a bubble.

Thought I'd post some update pics

These are pictures of each individual bud...is it considered a bud yet?

I'm glad this 'chid is a healthy one because I have no clue!
